You are absolutely correct. The media has actually become a huge joke in the last couple of years. I would never vote for Trump in a million years but the decline of the media may actually be worse than him becoming president in the long term
@OP: His current behavior is more than enough to dictate my opinion of his current actions. Asking the head of the FBI to pledge loyalty is the kind of thing that happens in tinpot dictatorships, not the so-called leader of the free world.
What good things
Are you Sean Hanity's son ?
What good is being overshadowed? And negative news doesn't necessarily equate to bias. There's some crazy shit going on right now
Ok but what good things
Idk how you expect the media to report on his good things if you can't even name one
Is this a joke? This has to be a joke.
Every Trump supporter talks like you OP. Oh don't trust the media all FAKE NEWS. And when asked what are the facts we get something like go read this obscure blog or "I am not going to spoon feed". This is a forum for open discussion on top of which you called for people to be unbiased. Then why fuckity fuck are you being high and mighty ? I don't know any good he has done other than the fact he didn't fuck up NASA and that he pushed a bill to thrawt lobbyists. You got most stuff to share? Do tell ! I would love to know !
No. Press needs to continue doing its job whether you like it or not. Bias will always exist. People are legit mad right now in the US. Decisions the president is making/attempting may literally kill people or destroy families and people's lives. As much as the press trys not to be bias, they are human. It is hard.
I think the majority of the reactions to my post illustrate my point about how made up people's minds are and how his likeability (or lack thereof) is playing into peoples perception of his performance. I'm not going to spoon feed the more positive impact actions he's taken because a) that's a matter of opinion and b) you may find a benefit in taking a moment to read beyond the New York Times or huffington post (and all of the major, special interest-led media outlets for that matter)
Yeah, i understand your perspective but there is a real danger in giving equal weight to the good things and the bad. One example of this was the media coverage during Brexit; in an attempt to look fair and unbiased some outlets gave equal weight to both sides... sounds good right? Except when you give equal weight to one crackpot economics professor vs. the opinions of a dozen Nobel laureates. At this point I do believe there is a real danger in legitimizing someone like trump ( and I say this from somewhat afar - 🇨🇦). Especially at the moment with the whole FBI thing. Let's be honest, during watergate should they have reported on the good things that Nixon did as well?
He doesn't do himself any favors. Someone should disable his twitter account and lock Sean Spicer in a padded room.
They're freaking out over things that never even made a blip during the past 8 years. Completely and utterly showing themselves to be untrustworthy buffoons.
Ok, but what good things?
becoming repetitive. I'm not making an argument for him being likeable, but I'm a believer of giving credit where credit is due
The left lost because they underestimated the depths of racism and sexism in America.
I read Drudge every day and I'm still not sure what good he's done.
You mean the same media that created Trump and gave him free coverage with no real critiques or filters for months and months during the campaign?
What I want to know is why OP thinks he's oh so objective yet everyone else is not?
