Is anyone familiar with Squire Patton Boggs? How’s their warranty litigation practice? I know it’s a super niche area. But is it possible to switch to other teams later in BigLaw?

Is Squire Patton Boggs BigLaw?

I think it was like 15 years ago but went off a cliff about 12 years go. I didn’t realize it was still around, I don’t know what’s going on over there these days.

Hi all,

Joined back TCS after Sabbatical leave (higher education).

Current designation is System Engineer and role tagged on Ultimatix is Developer.

Assigned to a project as BA (orally, on paper it's just Team Member). Raised a re-fitment request to HR.

Please throw some light on the re-fitment process and what I can expect depending on my qualification.

Qualification:
> TCS : QA/Jr.BA (3yrs)
> M.Sc : CS (University of Alberta, Canada)

Thanks

Interviewing for an L6 TPM role at Amazon and have received a request to submit a writing assignment (post phone screen) that is due before the interview loop.

Would it be a problem if I write about the same scenario from my phone screen, with more specificity? I have a great example on the innovation option, but HM already touched on this topic. I think the intent is to just gauge my writing style, but don’t want to assume.

What are the odds of getting into Big Law after being an associate at a boutique in a small market? I clerked right out of law school and am now joining a boutique firm with the hopes of gaining experience quickly. While relocating isn’t an option right now, I have considered trying to move to a larger firm in a larger market in the future. Has anyone else done this?

Partner went to bat for me! 🙂
Last night, I got a nastygram from a client who basically wanted to forego due diligence in a major buyout we’re helping him with. “Stop requesting documents and just draft me my docs.” But we literally don’t know who owns what right now, terrible corporate records. This morning, the partner told me he’ll probably fire this client, big pat on the back.

I try my hardest to explain the purpose of the TOL and that most of the objections will be handled by the title company, but most sellers don’t understand, ignore the TOL, and blow the seller response deadline. Most of the time the only response that is needed is “Yes, Seller agrees to satisfy all B-I requirements and to execute an owners affidavit at closing...”

I’m a 5th year associate in big law. I’ve always kept partnership in mind as an option, but last year I spent some time thinking about the future of my career and think I may want to go in-house (although I haven’t completely ruled out partnership). What should I be focusing my time on in the next couple of years? For IH counsel who transitioned from big law, what are some things you wish you had done before leaving big law? And where should I look to get a feel for the types of jobs out there?

Other than partner track, salary/benefits, and switching from coverage to general comm lit, what qualities of the move should I be thinking about as I weigh my options? I've never worked at another firm.

With the ultimate goal of moving completely out of ID, would this be seen as a step up? I appreciate any and all feedback. TIA
