Is hourly or salaried pay better in healthcare right now? Salaried sound stable until overtime becomes expected. Hourly roles pay more on busy weeks but feel unpredictable. I’ve been burned both ways. What has actually worked better for people long term?

It really depends on the position and how much OT is available. Also have to consider benefits - some places give salaried employees benefits immediately while hourly has to wait a year or more before they're even eligible. I've always been salaried and it's worked fine for me, but I'm also not expected to put in 20+ hours of unpaid OT each week. I'd probably feel differently if that was the case.

I prefer a salaried position for the stability it offers. Overtime can be a bit complicated, but it’s still my choice.

I agree with this so long as OT is a choice. At my hospital they want to make you salaried and expect you to work 60 hours a week with no OT pay. That doesn't fly with me.

I prefer salaried, but I am also very comfortable setting boundaries and sticking to them when it comes to my hours. There is a stability that comes with being a salaried employee that is extremely important in a job market as unpredictable as this one.

Feel like audit scheduling is always done on a knifes edge in that the timeline and staff schedules are enough so that if everyone works 60 hour weeks and no issues are identified then it can be filed on time. But even small things that increase the work can wildly throw off the schedule and cause hours to skyrocket for the staff on the job. No real point here, just ranting.

Hello Folks!

During work from office days, a representative from third party vendor organization used to visit the Gurgaon office during the Investment Proof Declaration days to help folks with "rent agreements, PAN number and rent slips" (ahem!! ahem!! IYKYK) and we were able to claim tax deductions.

Is it still happening there? Also, does anyone have a contact for them?

Why do leaders keep comparing how “good”the new staff/seniors have it because they make more money starting out then they did and working 55 hours is better than the 70-80 hours they used to work? Instead they should compare what options they have available to them and what their goals are.
