Is IT audit as bad as people make it out to be?

Better than core audit

IT audit is definitely easier than core audit and you make more $$. It is somewhat repetitive and hard to find meaning in your work, unless you are staffed on a cool project or work in a specialty group... I enjoy it though!!

It’s cool. Make the switch. You’re only testing for the first 2 years or so anyway.

There is money in it audit

D, I'm not really concerned with "meaning". Honestly does anything we do have meaning?

Hours and money are both better than core. Downside is that exit ops are more limited and the work can be boring (but tbh if you came here for excitement you were screwed from the beginning). It also depends on your industry. I prefer FS because the processes are more complex and there tends to be more in-house developed tech, but you could choose to focus on all manufacturing clients running SAP and your work would be pretty straightforward and not change much between clients

Agreed with PwC 4. Flexibility and work life balance is lightyears ahead of audit. There also tends to be opportunity to move up the ladder earlier in your career.

It's not that it's bad, it's just tedious in the extreme. If you're a detail oriented person you'll be fine and might even enjoy it.

Once you get past testing it's really not bad.

Hi all,

After the final interview, HR reached out and said they would like to extend an offer. HR gave a ball park of 135k - 145k base with about 15k in sign-on equity and 20k annual bonus.

After a couple of days, HR person came back with with 125k base and 20k annual bonus. No sign-on equity anymore. What should I do given that these numbers seem way lower than the initial range provided? HR claimed it’s because of “market conditions”.
