Does anyone have an idea how the work life balance is at Department of Treasury LB&I? Im getting tired of this Big 4 life and it seems to be one of the exit opps for a TP professional

There is definitely wlb at LB&I. When I first started, I tried to finish something up at the office and the manager who was on her way out told me to leave. It was like 5:05pm. I was shocked. I don’t know how it is now with wfh, but also be aware that the hours flexibility you have at PA is generally not available at the govt. I had to be at the office no later than 8:30. In PA I would sometimes walk in at 9:30-10. No one cares because I was working until 7/8. If wlb is the most important thing for you, it’s an option. But be aware that promotions are a hard thing to come by. In my group, they generally did not promote within to manager. They were all outside hires, usually former PA partners or VPs of tax or tax directors of corporations. But again, you may not want to be a manager as they are not eligible to be in the union. All other staff are unionized.

LB&I is a sub-division of the IRS which in turn is the largest agency within the Department of the Treasury. I heard good things about wlb.

Sharks and other fishes,
I need some career advice,
In my current company I think the development portion I've been given is kinda simple, I've asked my manager and seniors to level up my work and stuff, *which they did* but I kinda caught up.. now what should I do, should I ask them to level up again or look for better opportunities
Also, I had some Interest in CyberSecurity and I grinded it on my pre-final semester at Uni, should I try on that path as well or should I stick to development?

Hi fishes, I need some guidance.

I am currently into the SAP Security domain and I absolutely do not have any interest in it. I am planning to shift to development and have started on some courses on my own.

My question is, is there any future prospects in SAP UI5 and Fiori? Since my background is in SAP, I assume it will make a domain switch easier.

Or should I move into the JS-React path since there seems to be a lot of demand? But my worry is about my lack of actual work experience

After working 5+ years and letting life happen, I ended up back with a staff title (no career/group change). Everyone said I was doing well throughout my career. But most of peers are now managers, senior managers, directors, controllers, etc. I really don’t want to compare, but how do I deal with this so it doesn’t bother me? Has anyone else been in this situation? I feel partly ashamed because all of the work I put in didn’t get me very far in my career.
