How many vaccinations did you take?
Found another graduate of Dunning-Kruger University.
Nope, it’s not just you! The struggle is real!
Yes. But I also realize a lot of what I used to do with that ‘edge’ wasn’t necessary. Part of the wisdom of growing older is knowing you can accomplish a lot more with less, so long as you make the right decisions.
So true - need to rebuild my confidence so i can do that more
Is it affecting work only or personal too? If the latter you may want to take stock of your overall health. GI conditions such as leaky gut and SIBO or systemic illnesses such as Lyme disease can result in brain fog (and so many don’t talk about GI health that number of not normal symptoms are assumed to be normal).
Are you a male? Try testosterone replacement therapy.
You are not alone. I’m going through the same funk. I feel I am definitely more wiser as I’ve crossed 40 but not in the professional sense. Professionally I’m struggling to keep up with the pace of everything and the demands of work
I could run on 4hrs sleep after a booze filled night and still feel sharp in my 20s. Now at 40, I quit drinking, get min 7hrs of sleep, workout, and don’t eat a ton of sugar to basically feel at 100%. If any of those factors are off, I can feel mentally sluggish. So short version, I still feel as sharp it just takes way more prep/focus to keep myself that way.
Your mind and body definitely start to fall apart in your mid 40s. I need a nap everyday at around 4 PM. I can’t even make it through the day as I am always tired and sleepy.
I think you said you were pregnant during Covid and that you’re now 45. You may just have your answer. Are you getting enough sleep?

check for peri'menopause
How old are you, OP?
Rising Star
check blood test for thyroid, vit D, iron, ferritin, cortisol, magnesium, vit B, glucose, and sex hormones
if u r a woman sex hormones should be taken strictly on 3-5th day of a cycle
alao try to stop sugar, coffee, and get 8 hours sleep
For me, it was making sure I got no less than 8 hours of sleep per night. I didn't realize how much it was killing my edge until I had no alarms on my vacation, and my body made sure I got 8.
I could *feel* my brain running at low speed once I came back and slipped back into my old routine.
One angle is it could be toxic load on your system. There is so much junk in the food, water and airwaves, the body starts to accumulate challenges until it struggles to just stay neutral. I have found detoxing is critical to staying sharp. I use fasting about once a year to do a big cleaning, then I recently did a parasite cleanse and I felt a difference after that. Also, and this sounds weird, tongue scraping is one of the best ways to do a daily detox. Here is an article about it. I hear you though, you have to aggressively fight against cosmic entropy at this age!

How much do you exercise? That is 🔑
Neuriva at night and Ashwaganda in the morning help me immensely with these symptoms. I would find myself just looking at my screen wondering what I meant to do there and now that never happens, especially after adding the Ashwaganda.
Also stress and too many things happening all at once will make a person loopy…maybe try to simplify if you can.
You can get both of these supplements off Amazon.
I didn’t care anymore one day when I turned 40 and left to industry. Best decision ever.
It’s not just you.
