Is it just me, or do Monday morning meetings always seem to kick off with weekend small talk? Some weekends I barely leave the couch, so I end up scrambling for something to say. I get why we do it (it’s a nice way to ease in) but I wonder if everyone actually enjoys it. What’s your perspective?

It's the smallest of small talk here, so there's never any pressure to make my life sound more interesting than it is. "How was your weekend?" "Good, how was yours?" "It was good!" Followed by 15 seconds of awkward silence, then "okay let's get started."

Haha, that sounds all too familiar! The 15 or sometimes 30 seconds of awkward silence is spot on!

I promise it’s not just you….But for me, I am very comfortable saying it was not an eventful weekend so decided to stay in doors and rest…I might even throw in some humor like how the weekend was supposed to be 2 days but as soon as I slept and woke up it was over or maybe say this weekend was like 2 hours instead of 2 days and you can only truly sleep in 2 hours…lol

Haha I feel that! Weekends really do feel like a 2-hour nap these days. Honestly, uneventful weekends are underrated. I fully support staying in and recharging!

I have a weekly team meeting on mondays and it always includes a lil weekend recap. Funnily enough, my entire team is pretty mundane so it’s usually grocery shopping and errands for everyone

Lol, that’s kind of sweet though; there’s something endearing about a team that collectively embraces the quiet life.

Personally I quite like it, I think it's a nice way to ease in to the week. Even if all I did was chill ahaha

Agreed - No pressure to have some epic weekend story, just vibes and shared quiet routines haha.

Anyone have a referral to an Account Manager role or work somewhere they really like? I have lots of full cycle AE and SDR experience, and transferable skills from prior roles. 6 years in sales, 4 years in tech, 1 year in Fintech. I’m new here, anyone have a hand to lend? Advice? I’m feeling stuck, but that’s a longer post for another day.
