I understand what you mean, but if we collectively stopped showing up to work, we’d all be fired and that 90% becomes 100%. For an agency to change, pressure has to come from clients, who will only do business with agencies that show progressive levels of diversity. When you mess with the money, change happens.
That was just the industry trying to lean into the “zeitgeist” because of the radical injustice exposed during a very quiet pandemic. People are convinced COVID is not “a thing” anymore, I’m sure racism and bias were eradicated with it as well, lol.
They wouldn’t miss us.
That’s a great point. I’ve definitely experienced that firsthand.
To me, there’s been a trend most everywhere I’ve worked where agencies fight to retain White talent more than they do BIPOC talent. That’s where my comment really stemmed from.

🙄🙄 y'all just say the word strike with no real inkling what it means. I guess whatever makes you feel like a freedom fighter right?
Ok, friend. You got it! If you see fit, please add me to the group chat so I can do my part of the assignment. I want to be down, real bad. If not, my sentiment stands as so, and I’ll continue utilizing this app to voice my thoughts, and connect with those who share similar thoughts, until we’re able to collectively find a better medium.
Yeah, good luck with that.
Luck is absolutely needed!
What would a strike do? And not sure how most of what was mentioned correlates w/ race. Lots of factors go into pay; agencies having limited opportunities has nothing to do w/ race & aren't the only avenue for growing & displaying our marketing skills; and returning to office policies were not created w/ race in mind. If you want to be at the top and worthy of it, find a company that thinks the same, or start your own thing and blow things out the water.
I hear you, but I stand by the same reasoning as my first comment.
