I've heard that but I don't think it is true. I scroll my phone all day on company Wifi and nobody has ever said a thing to me. I am just careful about what websites I get on, on my work computer.
Me - Absolutely no checking my email or participate on social media on my work computer, ever. I do not keep a search history and always weekly/daily remove deleted files and draft files, keeping my work computer clean.
Most companies probably won't bother to check the logs, but there's a good chance they could monitor activity. They wouldn't be able to know what you're doing, but they could see what sites you're connecting to using their WIFI. So if you're spending a portion of the workday shopping or gambling or whatever, that might get noticed.
No shopping or gambling. But we do have private texts between the department since we know 100% they read all our teams chats.
Can the network admins specifically review what data & websites a specific IP associated with your work computer, desk or possibly phone (if on the internal work network) visits? Yes, they can.
However, it’s a question of scale, the degree of scrutiny it requires means they would need to have a reason to dig into the logs for your specific data & traffic, otherwise it’s looking at a field of haystacks & needles for no real reason.
Especially since most work networks just subscribe to block lists to keep their employees from accessing the most egregiously bad sites anyway.
Note that will likely change as AI begins to administer network security over the next few years.
TLDR? Yes they can, but why would they be looking into your traffic specifically?
Yes, they can see everything and it’s all tied to your device by your device’s MAC address, sooooo be careful lol
How big brother of them.
No need to worry about what this employer can see anymore. We have parted ways.

I’ve always wondered this. I only look up personal things on my phone and not work laptop. However, if I’m connected to their WiFi, I wonder if they can still see. At least I’m not looking at anything crazy just looking up restaurants or online shopping lol
If you are required to register your device in order to access the wifi, then they have your device info and can trace site usage. You probably signed a data protection / acceptable use policy when you first started, you may want to revisit that.
I don’t recall having to register my phone. I just put in the WiFi password like I would to access WiFi anywhere else.

I think it depends on the company. I think most wouldn’t bother. Smaller companies don’t have the infrastructure and bigger companies just won’t really care.
Keep going and looking for something better from that toxic and absurdness
