Is it true that all companies are asking AI-related questions now, even for microservices or Java roles?

Just got a freelance gig for $1250 for 2 shoot days, but they’re asking for hourly rate for prep days. Not sure what rate to give them & if I should base it on a 10 or 12 hr hourly rate. It’s LA based & content/digital production. I’m not a fan of hourly rates, but I don’t want to lose the gig or end up agreeing to less days than I actually end up working..

I’m a very experienced veterinary assistant who has been doing this job for about 4 years in total however because of my skill level I would say I am more of an unlicensed technician. I’m looking for input on what I should ask for a raise. Given the minimum wage, I make about $5 over but that hasn’t really changed to match inflation of living, etc and truly feel like I should be making a decent amount more given my skills. Any helpful advice?

I work with great people. Really can’t say anything bad about my firm in general either. But…I still dislike the entire premise of law firm life, the billable hour, etc.. I’d love to work in a law school setting as a counselor or something but I can’t afford the pay cut. *sigh* Does anyone feel like being a lawyer is just doing homework all day? First world problems I suppose. I’m very thankful to have a job ❤️

Currently in negotiation with Wipro, Deloitte and Crompton
All 3 have given a strict budget of 30-31LPA

I need help on 2 things
-Which co. has better growth in term of WLB, Skills, salary hike?
-As per my exp., what should be the best negotiation?

My monthly salary after employees pf deduction and professional tax of 200 is 96,500.
How much income tax will be deducted on this amount without any investments and all.

Currently have a mortgage on a 1 br in NYC (7 yrs in/30 fixed). Am looking to buy a home and rent the apt for income. Current income could not cover both properties reasonably (would be 80%+ of my net income), but I have enough cash to put 20% down. At worst, I'd still break-even on the NYC property. A refi could make the worst case profitable. Have 4 mo cash to cover apt vacancy.

Viable to get a primary residence mortgage? Really don't want to sell the NYC apt if I don't have to.

Would I be dumb to start a PhD?

I just finished my MBA. I’d never even considered my masters until my employer paid for it. My MBA helped me get a huge pay rise and I’ve just settled into a new role that I love.

I’ve just been offered a full scholarship for a PhD in a topic I am passionate about, already an active advocate for and with academics I sincerely admire. The topic is directly for a study I already contribute to every year.
