If it’s too much for one person and the client’s interests are not being served then help is needed.
No but some partners would say yes. The partners I work with split the load on cases as needed. We are also staffed very leanly. Also could be worth asking if you can loop in someone more junior who can at least do some first drafts.
Of course though from a billing client perspective should be a junior doing the research, drafts and grunt work but at the end of the day it is a trial, should be all hands even if partner has to eat some of the hours.
I've been in this situation far too many times as a litigation paralegal / legal assistant in insurance defense, both in as estos and construction defect cases. Even work at a law firm on 9 attorneys desks once. Stay strong and keep hustling my friend.
