Yes. And the culture has been changing to be more like that of SF with wokeness spreading like fleas.
What a nonsense sentence.
I mean, I'm not sure how there couldn't be a homeless problem considering how high the rent is. I'm not sure how that would suddenly change with one person.
With regards to crime, if you look at the stats for US cities, Los Angeles, while probably worse than many less populated parts of the country, isn't that bad: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_cities_by_crime_rate#Crime_rates
Stockton and Oakland, SF area cities, are near the top.

Seriously. Economic and social policies explain so much more homelessness and crime than one prosecutor does.
We’re turning more into gotham city! Lol
But as far as homelessness, the new mayor comes and relocates them based on the plans she had and then we see more, turns out our dear republican states are putting them in buses and sending them to blue states! It was also on the news 🤦🏻♀️
It’s getting worse. I wish there was a way to really help people pay the rent or reduce prices. Even “affordable housing” is out of reach for many people.
Rent control in certain areas like Santa Monica and in specific zones with specific stipulations (RSO Covered Buildings). Even still, that doesn’t protect new tenants from being charged whatever the landlord can get. Only protects current tenants from exorbitant increases.
Just FYI I love LA and never want to leave. Just clarifying facts.
I hate to say it, but I’m not happy with the metro stop coming into century city or the affordable housing mandate in Beverly Hills. We need a safe space from the zombies. Every city has its safe haven.
I lived in NYC and worked in SF for stints and live here and don’t find the metro any worse than the subway or BART. TBH I think Metro are generally safer. Some petty crime like cel phone theft but I’ve never had to leave a train car because there was so much stench of human waste or because of people acting violent like I did in both those cities.
Depending on the train here (ie, E line is mostly professionals vs red line from Hollywood) it can be a really good experience.
