Depends where you live, what your lifestyle is like, what your debt/long-term financials are. Some people might say no but I think that’s definitely livable wage for a single person.
I live on the Silver Lake/Historic Filipinotown border and pay $1600 for a nicely renovated 1 bed apartment, making 80k - I feel very comfortable!
I only know my own and my girlfriends apartments, and I don’t feel comfortable sharing what they are on here since it’d reveal where we live! But, I’ll tell you that you can certainly find good deals in the area, it might just take some time!
Absolutely doable
90K is certainly enough to live a comfortable life but like AC says, it depends on a lot of personal factors.

I moved here making ~80k last year! Agreed on the above, it depends on your lifestyle, goals, and debts. My first apartment was decent and on the west side. I had two roommates and paid ~$1300. I now make ~130k and have moved to a better area on the west side with one roommate and a better apartment and pay ~$1600. I also save aggressively so I’ve been looking to stay below $2k and probably will for at least another year or so. Many of my friends making around the same as myself pay more to live in luxury places/right by the beach/solo so if you take the time you’ll find a setup that works for you!

SC in LA here - 90K is doable. Just like anywhere else find a few laid back roommates and lock down a decent place to keep your fixed expenses low. You’ll be fine!
Rising Star
For comparison, 90K in LA is like 67K in Dallas or 58K in Houston.

Yeah, no problem. It will be smaller than your Texas apartment. But $90k is plenty to live on if you don’t have substantial debt etc
I’d just find a 1/1 in a 2/2
I just moved from TX! 100% feasible
West Side is more expensive. And if you have to into the office that’s on the west side, you’ll want to live there. Traffic is brutal.
Define nice
You can do “luxury apt” for $2500-3500 in trendier parts of town. Otherwise $1800-2300 should get you decent anywhere.
Lol 2500-3500!? Are you insane that’s like spending a paycheck on your apartment rent alone
Thank you all for your responses!!
I moved to LA when I was earning maybe ~85k. I found a 550 sqft 1 bedroom bungalow for $1800. Kitchen was updated and had a in unit laundry.
You can find cheaper apartments that than for sure.probably in the $1500 range
