I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

I’m sorry.. it’s a tough one. I’ve been laid off 3 times in my career and I think in some ways this has been good. Reality is, jobs are not guaranteed and the sooner Ive learned to accept this the better. I work on being grateful when I am employed, do excellent work, but also hold it lightly.
But it does mess with your head and especially with one’s confidence. It gets better with time, like anything. Try to refocus on your successes/accomplishments and that you’ve been able to land another job.
Being fired is a whole other ballgame. Depending on the situation, engaging a career coach might be a good move.
You've just got to give it time. From the sound of it, that layoff was relatively recent. It's going to take a while in the new role to shake off those paranoid feelings, and that's perfectly natural. Just try to remind yourself that you got this job for a reason and give yourself credit for your successes. Layoffs can happen to anyone. The fact you were impacted doesn't make you any less competent.
I’ve been in a similar spot 3x. It’s really hard to shake even if you’re not the one to blame, in fact it can be harder when it’s not performance based and it’s a company downsizing. The longer I go without another layoff the anxiety dissipates slightly but it’s still a nagging fear in the back of my mind, just not all day every day anymore. I basically am always interviewing and have feelers out with connections and new opportunities in case anything goes wrong I won’t be starting a search from ground zero
I have been there. The secret is having faith that god has a plan for you. Don’t dwell on the past. Focus on the present moment.
Because of my panic attacks I have been laid off or told they didn't need me 5 times now. I am able to work if you treat me like a human and not in a toxic environment. Yes it gets to you and people will ruin your career. I am getting ready to be homeless. I am good at what I do, but I won't do anything unethical or that is not morally right. It makes you feel useless and people don't care what they do to you. New possible employers should talk to you and not believe what they hear from a narcissist that destroyed your career for no reason. I get your pain.
