Is there really a point in giving a two-week notice? I got an offer and they're letting me start as soon as I'm able. I have zero desire to stick it out for two more weeks at my current job. If they were firing me, they wouldn't be giving me two weeks head's up anyway, right?

Spend time to offload your projects and leave nice documentation for the person who picks up your work. It’s a tiny world and as you move up people remember you and your work.

You’ll likely come across some of these people again, or need a favor/reference, etc.
If you act unprofessionally they will remember it.

Two weeks is not a long time. You’re under no obligation to give it 110% after you’ve handed in notice.
Why not just relax, and do a basic handover of your work?

Because you can spend 2 hours on “transition workload” and slack off for 6 for 2 weeks!!

Agreed with the above. Also worth noting that if you’re moving to a direct competitor, they might walk you out. If you anticipate that will happen, you can give your two weeks and get walked out anyway. Then you end up getting both pays for that two week window. Can confirm as I did this myself

Lol fk all that dude just dip. Don’t even say goodbye. They’ll pay you for the 2 weeks anyway plus any pto accrued. Unless they do the unlimited pto scam

For those of you in healthcare related account management, what is your healthcare background? I am clinical and getting ready to hire a higher level account manager. I am really biased toward people with clinical/in hospital experience because, quite frankly, healthcare is a different beast - lots of hand holding and change management. I don’t want to miss the right person because of my bias, so im wondering how many healthcare related AMs have healthcare/clinical experience… thanks in advance!

Any particular segment of sales good for ex-finance? Currently 3 years in at fortune 100 bank on business development side (on commercial loan originations team but no commission/targets at the associate level, basically do credit analysis and build pitch books for the producers) This role has been great as I have gotten both analytical experience and tasted sales experience (I say taste bc I’m not the producer) but would potentially like to transition to a sales role that is less analytical

I’ve had radio silence from a small investment bank for about a week now. I’ve completed several rounds of interviews, but last Thursday the firm reposted the job I’ve been interviewing for. On Friday the headhunter said that they’re not sourcing new candidates and it’s probably just LinkedIn automatically refreshing the listing. She said they had a busy week last week but will make a final decision this week - is the delay and radio silence a bad sign or is this typical for experienced hiring?
