I agree with your post. Some people would just treat any pet like this even if they are without training, it's like saying your teddy bear is your emotional support animal.
It is kind of problematic considering that a service animal's function should not be overlooked by any owner. I am supporting your message. I hope these people get corrected.
I hear this a lot as well and when i get the opportunity I do try to tell them gently that they should not be using that term for just about anything.
Yes they are trained animals not pets.
I know so many people taking advantage of that so that they can avoid apartment fees or airline fees
You are absolutely right. You should have to put your pet through training before getting those certifications
It's such a slippery slope, because if someone has anxiety or is clinically depressed they can technically call your pet an emotional support
