It feels like a lot of accounting roles have grown more complex over the last few years — but salaries haven’t grown at the same pace. Do you think the market will eventually adjust, or is this the new normal?

New normal. Fewer people will study accounting in college because they know it's not enough pay for the work and companies/PA firms will replace with AI and use offshore resources.

Just normal, not even “new” normal.

Despite advancements in automation, technology, and employee skills, salaries haven’t kept pace with company profits :D

Anyone looking to sublease an apartment in downtown Chicago for the month of June ? I have a 1 bedroom in the aqua building(225 n Columbus) corner unit, fully furnished. 850 square feet, with a balcony and amazing views. Steal deal if someone is interested with an option to extend the lease.

Just moved into an apartment in Old Town. The insulation for both sound and heat is terrible. I can hear everything going on outside and am nervous that the heat/gas bill will be insane.

We live near a train stop (~200 yards away) and hear it crystal clear.

Do you think my landlord will do anything to fix it if we ask? I’m more concerned about the noise. Any tips?

Anyone here counsel for a parent company with a lot of subsidiaries but the parent company’s legal department is really really small? I’m wondering if a small legal department for a large company is more of a pro or con? On one hand I suspect it’s less organized, on the other it might be a great leadership opportunity. Any insight? Thanks!

Just got a “Sheraton Vacations” special offer to basically get 5 nights at a Florida property for $250.

I read the fine print and other than a need to be flexible in terms of when you book, it doesn’t seem like there is a catch.

Anyone familiar with this “promotion” and what the downside might be? Or are they just looking to drive revenue to their other areas (restaurants, spa, etc) with a cheap room?

I had final round interviews last week for the company I really want to work for. I have an offer from another company, which I communicated to the recruiter which expedited the interview to final rounds. I need to respond to the other company's offer letter soon. Should I follow up with the hiring recruiter for the company I want an offer from? Or just move on if I haven't heard back by end of this week?
