I got to have brunch and chat with my parents, brothers, grandparent’s, and aunt/uncle. It’s true that some weekends blend together, but not every single weekend will have something fun and exciting. I find focusing on small things to be grateful for helps me relax/reset on weekends that takes me outside of my normal day to day life. Having breakfast with my wife, have a pleasant interaction with a stranger, get a small project done, etc. Helps me to be present and break out of always thinking about the next task which I am most certainly guilty of doing.
I didn't do anything fun or glamorous, but I managed to get a lot of cleaning done. And that was gratifying, to be honest. I was very sick with the flu two months ago and it took me forever to feel back to normal. I wanted to get rid of a lot of clutter over the winter but being sick kept me from it, so I'm finally getting a lot of things done now.
I'm not even going to lie, I spent a lot of time sleeping this weekend. I guess my body needed the rest. I did get all my household chores done, so I guess that is something to be proud of.
