It’s kind of weird, but after weeks of silence and being completely in the dark, getting a “we won’t be moving forward” email actually made me feel… relieved. Not because it’s the outcome I wanted, but because it’s finally something, a clear answer and a bit of closure. The waiting is often the hardest part. At least now I can stop refreshing my inbox and move forward. Curious if anyone else has felt this way?

There is this big bank where I'd love to work at, and after several interviews for various positions they end up promoting someone from within, even thou I understand it and think it’s good they promote their people, it left me feeling like I'm just being used to comply with the process.

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?

I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.
