Need some advice. I’m in a long term, committed monogamous relationship, but I’ve been concerned about my own fidelity. I worked as a technical PM for a medium-sized adtech company in NYC in charge of 2 technical teams, and the business intelligence team.

On Thursday I was informed by the lead PO and HR that leadership had decided that the project management office was no longer necessary for the company and all three of us, the director and the two technical PMs, were being let go. None of us were given any notice.

They offered me 2 weeks of severance pay and I negotiated it to 3.

Hello, EAs! I work for a small PE Consulting firm where I have been the EA to the CEO, CAO and MDs for 4 years (15 YOE).

I’m transitioning into a more ops/HR function developing our HR dept (we currently use a PEO) from scratch and will have 3 EAs reporting to me. I will be heavily involved in recruiting, benefits, payroll, 401K, training, mentoring, morale & culture & moderately involved in biz dev and marketing.

What would be an appropriate title for this role?

PA has been giving me a lot of anxiety. Is the work load in private as bad around close since it’s throughout the year?

for those who have left public accounting for a non-accounting related role, how did you decide what field to work in, and are you happier now in your new role? I’m realizing that accounting may not be for me, and the stress and anxiety of this job has gotten me to the point where I wanna make a career change. I want to stay within business and I’m also early in my career so I think it would be easier to switch to something else. any advice on where to look into or in general? thanks in advance
