Hello - hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm looking into risk assurance opportunities at Meta, especially Application Manager, Controls (min 5 YOE) and Manager, Compliance (min 12 YOE). I am a Senior Manager with 9 years of IT risks assurance experience. Does anyone have any thought on which position I should apply? If anyone currently at Meta could share your experience, that would also help. If anyone is open to providing referrals, I could provide my background. Facebook (Meta)

Super irresponsible take. Sure, we aren’t saving lives like doctors are- but at the very least you do have a duty to your employer and to your clients- both of whom are responsible for paying your salary. The absolute least that you can do is take seriously whatever is important to both. If you don’t, trust me when I say…they’ll be able to smell it and good luck to you long term not just here but in any job.
What a typical Consultant attitude. As if you being serious would make your job really serious. We mostly use consultants just to pass things on in the slides. If you can't really digest that reality then you can live in delusion. It's alright.
Leave the job then if you are so enlightened!

If I’m a client and paying a consulting firm $10k+ per day per resource then the least I’d expect is for them to take my shit seriously.
The problem in the region isn’t unrealistic clients per se, it’s the managers and partners wildly over promising on scope and deliverables for no particular reason.
Couldn't agree more. The funniest part is that many times, seniors don't have a clue about the topic, and they go confidently discuss it as if they have decades of experience, and then panic over delivery as if their recommendation would make a difference.
I largely agree but then remember how clueless clients here are without consultants
