I’ve been doing contract accounting work for the last year. I’m ready to find a permanent job, but I’m worried my resume looks messy. Do recruiters see short-term contracts as a red flag, or is this pretty normal now? I don’t want to come across as a job hopper, so I'm wondering if I should be worried.

Maybe note that they are contracts so then it shows that it is more normal and hopefully eliminates the blind judgement

Should be normal. I have been doing contracts since 2023. It is reasonable that you are on multiple contracts in a year because they are not full time job, you move on once a contract ends.

I don't know that they see it as a red flag necessarily. At the end of the day, experience is experience. I think short term contracts are pretty normal these days.

I see short contracts as context, not hopping. If you can clearly label them as contract roles and explain why you’re now looking for something permanent, that should address any concerns.

I think everyone will agree with this that in last 1-2 years we have seen a tremendous change in Indian IT industry and tremendous growth in Salaries and negotiations.
