I've been trying to land a new job for months now, but the marketing field is crazy competitive at the moment. I'm looking for any advantage I can get. Could anyone please review my resume, what changes do you think I should make?

Biggest issue I see is nothing communicates impact, if you’re effective at marketing, it needs to be driving something. https://www.resumepilots.com/blogs/career-advice/how-to-add-metrics-kpis-to-resume-tool?srsltid=AfmBOorF1TsvVBUweqsedDweASXCd9hKl5W1jcQsy9HnHHtps-keLLmc

Exactly lots of n talking about all the A-Z things to do, but not the things that explains your skills and justifies salaries

You’re just listing responsibilities, your resume doesn’t really tell a story about who you are and how you impact projects/your value add.

Just at glance:

1. Resume is hard to read. You can have job titles and location on the left and dates on the right

2. You're missing metrics. You need to quantify what you CAN. # of accounts, clients, $ value, etc.

3. Your job bullet points should be achievements, not just responsibilities you had. Right now your resume reads like any other resume that just lists job duties.

Look into a simple tool like Teal. And if you use chatgpt, do NOT just copy/paste what it throws out. You need to tailor the resume to the role. And be clear about what you're applying to next. Don't spray and pray

like

This. Also reduce the number of things for each job. It’s a lot of information that could be summarized - max 5-6 bullet points per job

like

Remember to show achievements - think $, %, #s, time saved, money saved, revenue increases, etc.

SSS 1 is accurate, where are your results, your impacts? You have very little meat on this résumé. It says a lot about what you did, but it says nothing about what your results were. And those need to go at the top of your role that you’re speaking of.

like

Please dont use multi-page resumes!

like

Industry-specific. In my field (law), you really should not have more than one page. You can start to consider doing two pages if you have numerous diverse but pertinent experiences over >10 years.

I would assume the same is true in many other industries. At the end of the day, most of the crap people include on resumes can be edited out / isn’t relevant to the role / is redundant in light of other, better experience for the role. In this specific case, OP’s relevant experience and education could very easily be condensed to a page.

like

Some great suggestions above. If you focus on how you drove impact to the business, hopefully it would be no more than 4-5 bullets for each role.

Fit it on one page. It's easier/cleaner and people appreciate it.

like

Agree with all the other comments — need metrics, list outcomes/results instead of responsibilities, reduce to one page. If you’re seeking a job in PR, remember that your resume is the first writing sample an employer sees — so use it! Position it in a strategic, creative, concise way that gets your message across and invites a conversation (interview).

Sorry for the multiple responses but lastly and I know you didn’t share the top of the resume prob for privacy), but it needs your name, location, email and phone and LinkedIn profile web address. Then a short summary… may 3 sentences… then put as your last/3rd sentence, “ My experiencesbuild and skills align with the following job posting requirements:”

Then 5 to 6 bullets that need to the requirements of the job that is on the job posting. So, if the Job posting says you need 3+ years of Market Experience … then word (but do not copy exact wording) your bullet to sync with that requirement. And you do this for all the requirements of the job (as long as you have/meet those qualifications that is)

like

5-6 bullets that need to match*

I don’t mind 1 page resumes but not always easier/cleaner. Many people try to pack in too much. If you need 2 pages and it’s clear, concise, and clean.

First you need a style. This looks very 80s type writer.

Create a header and summary core skills. Then get into work. This is very quick and just intended to give you an idea of where to go.

Location can sometimes be useful to know we don’t have to pay relocation for this person or wait for relocation before starting.

Check out this site https://ratemymd.app/resume/ - it was super helpful for me and max 1 page unless you have 10+ years of experience

I suggest also focusing on using Typographic Emphasis. Just small tweaks to the graphic style, spacing, can make a huge difference and easier on the eyes to scan through. Move your role to the same line as the name of the company.

Secondly, I would add a very short company description under each company you worked for. Who are they? What size? What do they do, what did you do there? This gives the hiring manager an idea of who the companies you worked for were especially if you’re applying to different sectors. Hopefully this helps!

Metrics, impact, but also just overall read of your resume. For instance, “several” is how many people? Did you work for global teams? It’s also very generic. These would be great talking points but I would do fewer, longer bullets re: most impactful initiatives. Each bullet should answer what, why, how, and result. Make it easier to read (i.e., Play with bolds and italics for company and position title, respectively. Put dates all the way to the right side of the page). Having everything jumbled together takes the focus away from your actual job. Hope this helps, and happy to help further over DM.

You also might consider embedding important key words from your career profile and job descriptions to better your chances at future opps. I would ask yourself, how likely are you to stand out strictly by the words you chose to use?

Using a template like this will make it much better visually

That roughly the style I recommend, only tweaks are name in the header and coloring it blue or something to draw the eye. I move education to the bottom if not a new graduate. And add a short summary followed by key skills to help the ATS pick up the right buzz words.

I can understand why you’re not getting proper attention by recruiters . Resume must reflect your personality, abilities, accomplishments and achievements especially if you’re in marketing field. If I were you , I will start with experience summary like As MarketingLead , I am responsible as hunter acquiring new clients and over last year acquired 10+ clients average revenue size of $200 k just giving an example. Mention which industry clients you were working like BFSI , CPG , Retail, Manufacturing etc . If you manage team mention team size etc hope this helps. Every role you mention highlight recognition rewards and achievements

Numbers and results missing. Career summary and highlights missing. Skills missing, put hard ones only, no opinions.

Graphically better structure. You’re in marketing so you can have a really graphical colorful resume also.

Asko ChatGPT, or wonsulting. Can help you make a better one.
