I've got to be honest, this constant stop‑and‑start with hiring is wearing me down. We go through posting the role, screening resumes, interviewing great candidates… and then suddenly the position gets put on hold again. It’s frustrating because we’re losing good talent, wasting everyone’s time, and the team is still short-staffed. The work doesn’t stop just because hiring does, and it’s hard to keep candidates warm when I can’t give them a clear timeline. Feels like I’m running in circles instead of moving forward.

I was wondering what kind of contractual or other barriers I might face if I apply for one of the big 4 while working on a project with them in my current company.
I am not too involved in the project but I was in a few meetings and went on a field trip with them as well.
The position that I am applying for is in a different team and city.
Will this considered “poaching” if the consulting firm hires me? Would they need to talk to my current employer?
