What pays is knowledge and the ability to serve clients well. Jumping ship too often does not generally lead to either of those things. You’ll eventually end up overpaid for what you can do, and that’s not a position you want to be in. If you’re happy with making around what you do now, you can probably hop somewhere else for a bit more, but if you want to eventually make the big bucks, you’re eventually going to have to stick with a firm long enough to learn the skills needed to be worth more money.
