You wouldn't be the first to have bad side effects with effexor. I had to get off of it because it got me wired and anxious. Maybe see if you can try a different med?
Both of them are depression treatments that are known to be just as effective as meds, if not more
Looks like these meds are making it worse for u. Then re-evaluate if these meds are right for u.
My cousin suffers from depression and for years he took so many diff meds and nothing helped. But we all are dependent on doctors so he continued on meds.
Finally we started smoking weed 2-3 times a week. He is much calmer and relaxed now. Not saying that is the solution but you should try some natural therapy too.
My first dr gave me effexor for anxiety. I don’t recall any weird side effects. He was out of network and i didn’t want to keep paying $500/hr so I went in network. The second dr said their office policy is not to prescribe Effexor because apparently it’s easily addictive? I got lexapro, but it really affected my libido. I moved state and my current dr gave me wellbutrin for a combination of anxiety and bipolar. I’d ask your dr about that potential bipolar symptom, and see if you can switch to another treatment. There are many different treatments for depression.
I just started Wellbutrin in the past 2 weeks, I’m slightly calmer but still feel lethargic/low energy.
Time will tell… I did feel noticeably better on lexapro in the past though
Can you try taking the medicine at a different time of day? Can you take Benadryl at night to help you sleep? (Also sold as Zzzquil and approved to use as a sleep aid). I know some people even set alarms before their normal wake up time to take medicine and then go back to sleep if they want it to take effect first thing in the AM (some ADHD people do this with Adderall). Maybe you can adjust dosage?
Thanks. I will try the Benadryl.
