Wondering whether anybody’d be interested in some kind of more purposeful community- i.e., gathering w/fellow lawyers to pursue some specific mental health & well-being goals? We’d provide some counseling/coaching type content, in bite sized chunks, but have regular discussions to connect & encourage one another on applying the content IRL.

What is your opinion of expected base salary for a Director of Global Operations Risk Management who has managers who are leads for each region (US, Latin America, Europe and Asia)?

Hello, I have accepted an offer at a competitor company and sent in my resignation letter. My start date is 5 weeks from now so I put in my end date 4 weeks from date letter was signed. The manager said I had to leave the job in 2 days and the company can only play 2 weeks of work. Is it normal how they do that?

I'm 22 and planning to take a life insurance. I'm comparing all policies and max life seems attractive as it has good claim settlement ratio and less premiums. But there is no office near our area. My worry is that if there is a need to claim in future, it can be done all online by my nominee? Is it recommended to take policy online in any platform(like policybazaar)?
Other options I'm considering are SBI life, HDFC life which offices are available in my locality.

I need a change so badly I’m on the verge of tears almost every day. I’ve invested so much preparing for this career. I know I have so much talent that’s not being utilized. I feel stifled and stuck. I don’t need the health insurance but I’m terrified of giving up financial security. Any suggestions in NH for a sp ed with a MS in ed tech integration and a CAGS in Ed leadership. I am driven by identifying systems and creative problem solving and also have a background in art & design.

Comforting others:
When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. I was taken aback recently when a friend told me I am calloused and cold-hearted for not being able to say those words. Is she right? I will be joining IBM next week in Bangalore ( physical onboarding ) and my hometown is in West bengal , My father is having health problems , mother won't be able to handle everything and no such person we can rely on . Also I am getting married in January . Hence If i stay in Bangalore there will be no one to take responsibility for my marriage prep also . I am working on a NFOA for a design case. The Examiner identified a primary references and four secondary references. The Examiner also pointed out five differences between the primary reference and the claimed design. For the reply, I found nine additional differences between the claimed design and the primary reference, two of which are not present in any of the cited references. Should I clarify the level of a designer having ordinary skill in the art first? Complex/Expensive article. TY!

Why would a luxury watch brand make/sell connected or smart watches? What is the business reason for it? To me it just kills the brand value. For instance I was a big fan of Montblanc but after I see their smart watch line up I instantly devalued the brand in general. Same for Tag (tag is questionable anyways), or Breitling. How did you get started in the insurance industry?

New to fish bowl. I have been an insurance adjuster for 25 years. I work for State Auto Insurance. I have been with State Auto for a little over a year and to be honest it’s been the best insurance carrier I have worked for. They are hands off and let your claims experience run the claim process. The work culture is fantastic. Recently it was announced that Liberty Mutual would be acquiring State Auto. To say I’m a little disappointed is an understatement. Any thoughts from people that know LM?

For a position as an underwriter at State Farm- I know they provide training, but is it helpful to take an online course in property and casualty and then take the licensure exam on my own?
