A soft strike by the PPB and "union" members hardly qualifies as a crisis, this reeks of California implant.
To touch on your replies, the downtown economy is likely affected in larger part by exodus of businesses, citing work from home staff performance making the expensive office space that has saturated the RE market in recent years, thanks to developers, rather obsolete,
-Walmart would love you to think theft is the culprit but considering employees had just recently planned to unionize before the closures it shows you that a multi-billion dollar corporation (with insurances for things like theft) has more than likely weighed the cost benefit of closing a couple stores vs setting a statewide precedent that they should be treating their employees fairly.
-As far as unemployment numbers go, see: unrealistic qualifications for entry level positions, new generation entering workforce with little patience for corporate shenanigans, horridly low wages that haven't adjusted for inflation and failure of companies to provide salaries comparable to that of the local cost of living. When/if you get laid off, I'd like to see if you consider unemployment to supplement whats lost in the time spent looking for a new job.

In fact they should probably do some stimulus checks. I think they could justify it.
