I can’t see this happening, points go to the individual. You can’t take someone’s airline points even if you book their flight for them.
Companies do and can take points. A good friend of mine is a pilot and he doesn’t get to keep hotel points, etc.
That would be insane. If I were with EY I would quit. One of my top motivator in consulting is all the good vacations I can take my family and using points will add to the luxury and comfort. 2000 not spent on hotels or airlines will let you spend more on activities, food and others
Like others I doubt they’ll do it though
Some firms have set up their hotel corporate code (and airfares) that when booked properly (eg though AMEX), travelers cannot receive loyalty points. All points accrue to a company account. I really hope this isn't true for EY and would put us at a significant disadvantage.
How about Deloitte? Do they allow?
I would be shocked as they would lose many talented resources. But, then again, I don’t work at EY
I certainly hope it doesn’t happen - would definitely be demotivating. I guess the thought would be that EY could donate those miles/points and make a bigger global impact. But I think the consequence to all of us would outweigh this impact. I hope before decisions are made they test the climate to see.
Carmine doesn’t need to bank em all. I’m sure he can afford travel
But if the firm books them on behalf of us, they could theoretically get the points and apply them to travel, or maybe turn them into rebates? Not entirely sure.
I can't see this happening either, though. Clients pay our expenses, so it doesn't make sense to eliminate this amazing perk for us. I would definitely consider leaving over that - it may seem minor, but the travel isn't worth it to me otherwise.
The credit card points, not the loyalty points.
That would be the only case that makes sense to me. But we don’t get to collect the credit card points anyways unless we pay a $90 enrollment fees out of pocket
