…me paying for camp for my son that he won’t be able to attend, and we’re paying for a hotel tonight.
What is a reasonable expectation for us to ask for? The whole situation is mind-boggling because Delta has had no explanation for me, and they don’t seem worried about resolving it with any urgency.

You should be able to get compensated as long as it's not weather related. However, they have a back log of issues due to the high demand so it could take awhile.
Not sure where your final destination is but can you rent a car and drive home and deal with the airline when you get back? Sorry this happened. So annoying and inconvenient!!

Thanks. Twelve hour drive while on Ireland time, so I just wasn’t up for that. I did get us a flight back tomorrow and will be taking up the fight for what they owe us when we get home!
Did you book using a CC? Travel perks should work for that.

An airline does not have an obligation to rebook you that day, just the next available flight. There’s no reason to try to use that to bolster your case bc they don’t care and aren’t doing anything wrong, if the next open seat is 3 days later it is what it is. Try looking with other airlines and asking to be reimbursed the difference
