Just read this rather fun book spanning across quite an eclectic scope. Landsberg is one of my fav economics writer who has a snarky sense of humor and gets you thinking about obvious stuff.

Is it anything like Freakanomics?

like

It is. While freakonomics majorly contended with understanding the hidden side of public policy or government decisions like effects of Roe v Wade on crime rates or contesting Gladwell's views on things like the 10k hr rule, this book costs a wider net and uses economic and mathematical thinking to deliberate upon questions from philosophy metaphysics moral virtue etc

I'm reading this book on boundaries. In the work section it says I should tell my boss that I can't work after 5 PM. Knowing that advertising work commonly goes past 5 PM...would my job be in danger if I said that?
There's not really a rule book that says I must work until the work is done even though it's an unsaid expectation. Thoughts?

USI folks - Do you know if the Sum assured of the health insurance offered by Deloitte is for per year or total. Context, I am currently at Deloitte US and thinking of requesting a USI transfer because of a serious health issue for one of my parents. Would be really thankful if someone can clarify 1)Will parents existing conditions/treatment (Chemotherapy ) be covered from my day of joining and 2) Will sum assured will reset every year (if yes, then when, January or our FY). Thank you

I am currently working with fiitjee ltd kolkata as marketing manager. I have done BE in computer sc. And MBA in marketing and operations. I have total 8 years of experience. I want to switch from education industry to IT. I need help.

4 years sober today. So much to reflect on, not least of which how important it is to “get comfortable getting uncomfortable”. In my experience, it’s truly the only way forward.

Sending strength to you all 🖤

I keep getting recruiters asking to apply for new roles, which is what I thought I wanted because I’m not growing at my agency. But I’m so fatigued I don’t even know if I want to stay in advertising. Have y’all left or took a break to do something different? What did you do?
