I think blocking platforms misses the point. It is not about access—it is about trust. Teams can have meaningful conversations anywhere if the culture allows it. Cutting us off just makes it feel more controlled than connected.
I like that reply. Yea it's Like being back at school. We are grown adults. It's just that one your lunch time sometimes you'd rather use a computer then your phone. We have an hour break but we can't watch anything cos they won't pay TV license.
If I'm reading this correctly, the tech people shut off access to things like Facebook. I guess they have their reasons, but that shouldn't really affect the conversation. Just use your personal phones, or talk to each other after hours from your own computers. Companies can shut down access, but they can't dictate what you discuss on your own time and on your own devices.

Yes I agree with the above, companies cannot dictate what you do and who you contact outside of work hours. Obviously if an individual doesn’t want to communicate with anyone outside work that’s completely fine, it’s their life. But I think it can be great to get out there and be social when you can, does you great mentally and physically, so it’s not all bad😊
As long as we do nothing that puts a bad light on our company. We can't be dictated to what we do.
