Rising Star
Every time you present work is a chance to add something extra at the end of the deck.
Think of it like a server trying to upsell you on truffle fries.
If you are charming enough, and you have a great idea, you may be able to get the client to find some money for the idea.
Start with how it will solve the client’s problem.
Befriend people on the global creative council
- keep your team smaller. Less committee-like.
- Try to foster an environment and client mindset that is excited by doing new things (that will likely be hard) rather than doing the “production efficient” / “feasible” things that everyone’s already done a version of.
- swings. Lots of swings. The more non-traditional ideas you pitch, the higher your odds are of selling one.
Easy. Make them as cheap as possible. Forget margin. Produce in house. Ask for services from people within the agency. Truffle fries for 2$? Sure I will give them a try, even if I didn’t intend to.
Also show references in terms of scale and earned media generated / budget so that clients get what’s in it for them as well.
Thank you everyone 🙏
