Hi Fishes, Y.O.E 7.5+ years. Tata Consultancy TCS is offering 25LPA including variable pay and everything. So just 15% increment on my current salary since they mentioned I am leaving my current organization within 1 year.
They mentioned 8-12% is VP plus 80k from that salary is paid at the end of each year. Is it a good enough salary for 7.5+ yoe candidate. Also any heads up for the things I should look out for will be really helpful.

I used to be in Deloitte’s SAP practice.
This is gonna be a hot take but I’m not Indian, and most folks at Deloitte working in SAP are Indian. So they would speak in Hindi or another language openly in front of me. It was pretty consistent that they did this and management didn’t care
I don’t think I really met any managing director or partner I really respected because when it came down to it, they were willing to burn people in order to make their numbers and just figure out how to find other people.
My friends tell me they’re laying off folks in SAP right now, bench is pretty fat. So also maybe not the best time to join.
SM1, I noticed after edit was unavailable. Simple spelling mistake. I and U are right next to each other on the keyboard.
No joke.worked for last two weekends and will be working this weekend as well

I was SM in the SAP practice. It was brutal. Lots of fiefdoms and huge egos. There is a lot of work but margin pressures lead to under staffing and crazy hours.
Scatter plots are a crap shoot and favoritism and weekend work is the norm.

I have experience at Accenture, PwC, and Deloitte.
Overall, SAP is SAP. Deloitte will have a bigger focus on business value and I found the projects more interesting. I also felt best supported at Deloitte and was closer / happier with project leadership.
The churn at Deloitte was significantly lower (e.g. Less people quit) and weekend work was infrequent, but it happened.
Every year Deloitte culls the bottom 4.5%. This year it was extended to 6.5%. So we did let more people go, but it wasn't some mass issue. Don't be near the bottom and you won't have an issue.
D6, most of us are just you a few years further down the line.
I think it totally depends on the project. Some projects are hell - zero WLB, impossible to set boundaries as leadership will always bend for the client, etc. Yet some projects are really great - great leadership/clients, realistic timelines/scope etc.
Totally get that - everything’s project dependent really. You find senior leaders typically selling the latter? Realistic timelines, etc?
Come do SAP at PwC, apparently we’ve got sap coming out of the wazoo.
Yoe? Module?
Depends on which level you join. If you are a lateral hire , say 10+ years of exp , get ready to work under home grown head weight Ms and above😭
What country are you look at OP?
US
Deloitte hires a bunch of incompetent cheap people to put in the projects so if you’re one of the good people whose knowledge in the project you’ll end up picking up all the slack. Also depending on the track you take there they have a lot of company growth requirements to add to that.
I didn’t work for them directly but I’ve worked with Deloitte teams closely and have seen it and have seen them push work to other contacts
Don’t join if you can another option. Was there for many years and it was hell
D tends to say yes to crazy client demands driving bad behaviors, crazy hours, etc.
I’m lucky I got placed on a 2-year greenfield implementation and my PM is very laxed BUT he did really want me to travel to client site during my pto to meet the client which kinda sucked but definitely earned brownie points with him. SAP projects at Deloitte are also bountiful— you’ll never have to worry about being on the bench (at least here in advisory) which also means you’ll be less prone for layoffs. Utilization is high but it keeps you lay-off proof in a sense.
Bench point is not quite accurate. Many SAP practitioners face a huge challenge to get staffed
