I have just been told by my POC that the hiring for chat is on hold and they are not certain when they will start the hiring for chat. I gave the interview for chat last month and I was told that I have cleared all the rounds and my joining will be from the next month (July) but now all of a sudden they are saying this.
I am scared and don't know what should I do.
Does anyone know when they will start the hiring for chat?BT British Telecom

Starting a new job at Applied Materials on Monday as a Manufacturing Engineer III. I’ve been out of college for 5 years and all of my work experience till now has been in R&D for start ups and small businesses . So not only is this a new experience for me going into such a large company but also a industry (semiconductors). Does anybody has tips or advices on what I should expect as a new hire and how I can set myself up for success? Thanks!

Are you down for 75-100% travel?
For sure @DD1
Slalom xmarket might fit. What is your exper tise?
Typically, less than 50 pct these days.
Yes
S1 is correct if you are talking about non-leadership positions. Solution Principal and above (PAL/PAD) can verge on 100% travel and then seems to ease back off at MD level.
What, exactly, is a 'Virtual Consulting Position'?
One that is not tied to a specific office. Want to work from home most of the time but I am willing to travel if needed
S1 - How much of a travel required in xmarket? % would help. Thanks!
@Op just join a big 4 firm? Most are travel projects rather than local or having to come to the office
Thanks S1! Since some travel is involved, is the compensation correlated(higher than other non-travel roles in slalom)?
West Monroe has a number of different practice options (IT, strategy, M&A), offices around the country and is open to working from home. Travel ranges from 25% to 80% depending on role (dev vs pm) and project. Great culture, great teams. :-)
