Was unsuccessful recruiting for top consulting firms during my MBA. I need that money! What is the best approach to landing an interview post MBA? Referral?
Hi all, I have been using Goldman Sachs’ Marcus Savings Account for a while as a place to hold emergency savings. The platform is pretty good and I have 4 more referrals this year. If you are interested, Marcus is having a promotion for an extra .50% APY for 3 months after opening an account. Check out my referral link if you are looking for another savings account—https://www.marcus.com/share/ONZ-IJD-IDT2

After a year of searching for the right role I finally got a offer on Friday to escape consulting! It’s going back to the to the gov and while they’re just matching my current base comp, the role is a chief of staff to a federal agency administrator and will be a great launching pad. 10 YOE expierence in federal policy prior to D. In retrospect I’m glad I held out for the right role despite the painful year long search and many rejections. Hold out hope y’all, your time will come!
My manager doesn’t seem to have any boundaries - always saying yes to additional unnecessary work from the client and always working through weekends/nights/PTO/holidays. They are supportive of encouraging everyone else to have a WLB but since they don’t lead by example it ends up making me feel like I’m doing something wrong or crossing a line whenever I set a boundary with them or push back on a request that doesn’t align with our goals or priorities
Anyone here works for Affirm? I’m looking into their compliance analyst position and I want some inside in pay and the company culture.
Very thankful to have a week each month remote on my project. Let's be real, we don't need to be on the client site every week.

Anyone know what firms/teams have already moved back to regular travel? (At least biweekly, even?) looking to jump to a role that will let me travel regularly. (In the analytics space)
Hi 🐠, need some advice. Was told by my manager that time doing research (for info related to my client) is not client billable and has to be charged to the overhead code. This strikes me as fundamentally wrong, esp bc this is a flat rate project so the hours will just affect my utilization / internal metrics, not how much the client is billed. I asked for a non-billable code that counts towards utilization but was told my utilization is fine even though I’d be billing <40hrs & to use OH code
Having a hard time jumping from mid to senior AD. Either I don’t have enough experience or I’m too experienced for a role. Any suggestions? Anyone hiring seniors in nyc?
I’m currently working at a law firm in San Diego specializing in coastal property rights as a litigation paralegal and legal assistant. We received a minute order from a preliminary injunction hearing. Our client was ordered to post an injunction bond of $2,500. First our client walked to the courthouse to try to pay the bond up front, but they would not accept his money. He tried to call several bond companies, but all said the amount was too small. So how do you post an injunction bond?
Lots of us are skilled at delivery but most sales books seem to focus on the pitch and closing... What are your best resources for learning to develop and nurture strong, lasting client relationships?

I graduated in May 2020 and found myself excepting a Junior Art Director position in Healthcare. I never saw myself in health but with many agencies having hiring freezes I decided to get some experience and save up some money in the meantime. Fast forward one year; I’ve added a new campaign to my website and I’m starting to apply to consumer agencies again. Any tips to help me make the transition? Any place to avoid? Who have you noticed is hiring again? Thanks in advance :)
Merrill Advisors - I have a client with an account at Merrill and am told that they have a money fund available which insures up to an aggregate of $5,000,000 in FDIC coverage. Is this a CDARs program and they are misinformed or does such a program exist and what is it called? I was told $5mm in coverage with daily liquidity which obviously wouldn’t apply to CDARs. Many thanks!
What are our thoughts about physically fighting a belligerent woman as a man? Genuinely curious, I'm a Male and had a woman get physically aggressive with me yesterday and I could tell she was about to throw hands. Luckily the situation was de-escalated. But it got me thinking I have no idea what I would've done if she out her hands on me... My personal opinion used to be never put my hands on a woman unless my child or family is in danger or if she had a weapon But now Idk anymore
Submitted a resume to a recruiter for a job last Monday. They called me within 2 hours and asked to schedule a phone call. The call went well, and they sent me all the necessary paperwork they need me to sign. I signed it within the hour and sent them an email saying I’m looking forward to working with them. Haven’t heard anything back since then. Is that weird? Does the recruiter actually think I am a good fit for the role? She sent me the name of the company and everything.
How hard is it to move to FAANG from a relatively unknown boutique consulting firm? Are there extra leaps compared to MBB or Big 4, or if you get a referral you have similar odds?
I’m a new MBB partner. I was heads down focused on this goal for the last few years. Now that I’m here, I’d appreciate any advice for how I should think about my early partner years. How do I figure out what my next goal should be? How should I work / prioritize differently? I would especially love to hear stories of how other partners approached their first few years. Thanks in advance!
Women! Do u think you are at par with your male peers in terms of salary and title? If so, how have you negotiated that?
Been interviewing with Delloite for a role in Risk and Financial Advisory - cyber risk infrastructure team, want to know if this a good area and what is work life balance ? Would be good to know what I am potentially getting myself into. Deloitte
Can you negotiate your time in the company? What I mean is say 401k vesting / matching happens in two year or vacation increases a week for someone with 3 years can I be credited with a year served in the system so that I can vest faster. I understand everything is in a system, so can they do a plus one to my count? I am doing this in case they come in at the low end of salary and can't raise salary. Trying to think of non monetary low monetary benefits to close gap
Any Marriott, Hyatt, or Hilton hotels on Cape Cod you recommend that are in walkable areas?
If you get fired from Deloitte (or similar), what would they say in a background check? Would they say “would not rehire” or something like that? Anyone have any issues with this?
When was the moment that it really dawned on you that you are a full fledged attorney? Mine was when I was a first year and did a pro bono DV case and won custody, alimony, and child support for mom.
Best consulting firms in Houston for Healthcare?
Any thoughts on Withers? Considering whether to apply for an opening. I realize things like WLB can be practice group specific. I also saw they pay below market and have a lower hours requirement. Thx
Looking for a last minute trip for the July 4th week using AA miles and SPG points. Any ideas? Thinking Florida, Mexico or Grand Caymans
Has anyone taken lessons at GolfTEC or a golf store (golf galaxy, pga superstore)? I typically play in the mid 80s but can’t get into the 70s. Looking for lessons to improve and get a little more consistent.
