If PHEV is important to you then Q5, if you don’t mind having a pre-new generation model. Otherwise, GLC 300. GLC 350e would be ideal. Having test driven the competition, GLC has best comfort and interior, X3 has best powertrain and driving dynamics, and Q5 is good at everything but great at nothing, in my opinion.
The 350e reviews (Car and Driver plus customer reviews drom Edmunds) are not positive about the combined working of the two engines or the MPGe. However, the 300 is indeed a comfortable ride if the driver stays soft on the pedal.
Q5e has a nice balance of comfort and sporty handling in bendy roads that I liked. Doesn't match the interior quality of the MB though.
I drive a 2017 GLC 300 and love it. My family keeps telling me I need to trade it in but I haven’t found anything I like nearly as much (even the current model GLC 300, though it comes close). Still drives well, reliable, low maintenance.
We chose the GLC too because wife thought it was the most comfortable and she likes the MBUX. She prefers to cruise around and not drive aggressively so the I-4 made no difference to her. It’s still sufficiently peppy. It’s all preference at the end of the day.
Do they have similar options?
Almost. For things I care for.
