I am recently starting to feel this too - the work is not very interesting (right now) and I am called in to help with a lot of different things because I am the “get things done” person. There are other factors but I’m considering starting to look around. You have to find a good spot for you, nobody would fault you for looking.
I have an additional problem I have started noticing. The boss doesn’t seem to want to do anything and is outsourcing a lot. I fear it will continue meanwhile I won’t have the exposure I want. Other work is boring. Boss is lazy and i have to hear all the sly comments of how legal are taking a backseat! Boss also takes credit for my ideas and work. Considering private practice again if i can’t find good specialist focused role. What will you do?
I’m feeling this way too & starting to consider my options.
I guess it depends what the ratio ends up being between boring and interesting, but if your hours are good and you have some interesting things to do sometimes, during the boring stuff just think of your paycheck and how because of it you’re able to do fun things outside of work.
That’s where I’m at right now.
