Talk to your counselor as mentioned. If you haven’t submitted your CPE to a state for CPE compliance it shouldn’t be that big of issue to resolve. No reason to run out of the firm until you have further discussions. We often get ourselves turned around and worried about stuff that ultimately don’t become that big of issue if you handle it correctly
What does “not adding up” mean? You didn’t work the hours or you ate the hours? Or you worked the hours, charged the hours but the output does not equal the effort?
Dude, I’m a Senior Manager whose had his AMEX shut off all the time, missing timesheets all the time. Last year, I didn’t even do a snapshot at all for performance. When I went up for SM, I submitted a one paragraph of why I wanted to be an SM while others submitted pages of information.
But I always do what partners care about, keep the bills go out on time and make sure my engagements are running profitable.
You realize the small stuff like this doesn’t matter that much.
Wait. Are we saying can your ass for lying on one timesheet? Did this become the twilight zone all of a sudden?
Yeah I have no idea what you are talking about with timesheets “not adding up” and lesser mistakes which we don’t know. It’s an anonymous forum, just tell us what you did so we can help.
No. Discuss your concerns with your PML. they will also discuss with you to the extent it is as large of a problem as you believe it to be.
That's hardly any thing to ever bring up. Just do it right moving forward. I am pretty sure we have all messed up timecards or hit wrong codes on accident
You’re an associate and your timesheet doesn’t add up? If you admit the mistake and fix it, I don’t see a problem. Echo above - just talk to whoever you report to and get it fixed
Agree with MD1. If you haven’t lied to the state yet, it’s not a big deal. If you charged a CPE code for more hours than the CPEs you got, that is hardly a fireable offense. You may have spent more time getting the credits than the credits you received. That’s explainable. Good luck.
Lol CPE in a lot of states doesn’t even get looked at unless your cpe is audited. That’s all internal tracking, you’ll be fine. Talk to someone in HR and get it squared away. Nobody is out to get you, chill
You made an honest mistake on a timesheet. Not a big deal!
Reclass the time to general code after discussing with your counselor. I assume someone is giving you a hard time with this, trust me it’s not a big deal so don’t fret it. People charge wrong codes all the time. You are staff 1, don’t be so hard on yourself.
It’s a large one and I have no idea how I can justify what I did 😔
My cpe hours don’t add up. And I have no idea why I charged cpe when I don’t even have the certificates. It was from a few months ago so I don’t even remember what I was thinking
Elaborate please. Also, did someone already talk to you about these “mistakes”?
I can message you guys the details because I’m too scared someone I know is gonna read this Please message me bc I need advice/need to get this off my chest.
Thank you for posting that Deloitte 1! It is honestly refreshing to hear a Sr. Mgr say that and I feel like I’m in the same camp. I’ve consistently gotten good reviews and do high quality work l, but I admittedly struggle at the big picture corporate stuff.
I’ve had a lot of late timesheets, I’ve had my Amex shut off and revoked (and replaced again), I’ve had a lot of counselors, I seem to always be in trouble with someone even when I don’t know it. I came to PA as a second career after doing my own thing for many many years, and honestly it’s hard to adjust to all the corporate structure and rules.
I’m not shady and specifically trying to skirt company rules, I just seem to find out later that I broke a rule I didn’t know was a rule!
Ohh, I’m terrible at the admin stuff of this job same as you EY2. My partners and managing partners all know that about me and we joke about it
I used to worry all the time about this stuff at a staff and at some point in my senior years, I realized what matters and what didn’t.
