I understand the concern, and I agree that overloading people long term is not a sustainable strategy. The point is not to make fewer people do endless work — it’s about removing low-value tasks through technology so talented employees can focus on higher-impact work. The companies that succeed will be the ones that invest in both productivity and people, not one at the expense of the other.
Rising Star
My company just let go of almost 1500 people because they jumped in to replace customer service agents with AI before they were ready to. Now customers and employees alike are unhappy. Sometimes move too fast just so they can say they're on the cutting edge of technology they don't quite understand yet.
AI will reshape many industries, but leadership is ultimately about judgment knowing when to move aggressively and when to scale responsibly. Moving first is not always the same as moving intelligently.
