This may be an unpopular opinion, but I advise people to keep cats inside. They are safer & exposed to fewer illnesses indoors.
I feel the same way too.
As long as they're spayed/neutered I don't see a problem with any of the 3 I've got one cat that is strictly indoor because she has no desire to go outside and my other is an inside outside cat by his choice and I've had strictly outdoor cats in the past.
I've never really done anything special except fed them inside mine have always been really good at coming in at night to eat.
Ideally, all cats should be allowed outside to express their natural behavior. Cats, on the other hand, can adapt to living indoors, especially if they are introduced to it at a young age. Some cats must be confined indoors due to medical conditions, while others prefer to live indoors. But of course they can survive both outdoor and indoor.

If dogs are allowed outside then why not for cats? As long as the owners are responsible then there is no reason for just keeping them inside.
I'd say a mix of both. But it depends on your surroundings. It would be best to keep them indoors if there are a lot of wild or stray animals around your house.
Staying indoors is the healthier choice for them. You can leash-training them if you want them to see the outside world.
