My dream has always been to relocate to New Orleans. I have applied to many jobs there over the years, but no one has ever responded because I am not a local. With that said, how does one land a job where they want to relocate first? I state in my cover letter that I will be relocating to New Orleans and that I will pay for relocation fees. Had an interview for an associate position at Citi. Interviewee was based in London and I’m in NYC. The only interview time that worked was 6am. I was barely functioning and feel like I truly messed up in my answers because I couldn’t not think clearly. I have another with the head of the division next week again at 6am (pre determined before this interview). It was also hard because the division’s core work is private enough that there was not much prep I could do beforehand. Tips?

How do relocations work when they're delayed?

My job advised me in July that I was approved to be relocated and promoted.

They told me a week before my move date that they are pushing my move back TWO MONTHS.
I explained that I have no place to stay or to store my things because I was planning on being in our new location. I was told that they were NOT going to assist me with living arrangements and that I should find a second job to help hold me over until the move.

Decided to move out of state after this school year for my kids. I have a good job and a good boss. I don’t want to just drop a two weeks notice because relocating my whole family has obviously taken some time to plan. What’s a good way to be very professional and keep my work relationships in a good note.
