Why do people accrue prepaid expenses?

How did you get started with your personal investing in stocks? I am 26, F, and currently have a 401k, and some money in stocks but not much. I’m extremely interested in investing have been reading and listening to podcasts. Any advice?

I would like to hit fire between 40-50. Currently 27, 185k total comp (125 for me and 60 for partner). Like my job don’t hate it don’t love it. Does an MBA make sense? I’m guessing it could take me to 170ish with that schools I’m looking at but wondering if the 40-50 retirement range makes an mba not make sense since I’d only have 10-20 years to save vs 12-22.

Do you regret accepting an early promotion?

I’m trying to hop on the busy season train. But today I have literally laid beside my laptop to wiggle my mouse and keep my status green. I’m just not ready for this mentally yet. I know it’s bad.

So my VP at my previous company felt bad and refused to speak to me or attend my farewell after my resignation. His reason was that I somehow betrayed his trust as he had promoted me just last year (after keeping the position open for 4 months and letting me take additional work load after the previous SM left!). Does this make any sense? I mean where does this sense of entitlement or ownership over the employees come from? No wonder the company in question is kind of facing a literal exodus!

I also just found out I’m being promoted to senior with a raise of 10%. In light of all these departures though, I kind of want to ask for more.... should I? And what % raise is appropriate?
