Thoughts on a Omega De Ville Prestige as a first luxury watch? Would be ~$7.5K USD at retail. Some friends have said great things about Omega as a starter, whereas others say it’s not worth it over a Rolex Oyster Perpetual (which would be similar in cost).
I personally love how clean the design is, the use of gold, and the thinner band as it links the watch … find the Rolex band design to be too chunky.

All are disposable. Including Hermès.
The Hermès bands are really nice (albeit should be given the price). When I upgraded from a series 1 to a 4 last year, I opted for the Hermès model because I wanted the leather band with the deployment clasp. Dresses the watch up and the leather is really soft. My next upgrade in a few years will be a standard model but the bands will still work. No regrets
I haven’t had any problems with it. It doesn’t get a heavy rotation but it’s held up through water, sweat, etc. The deployment clasp really helps the leather from breaking and prematurely wearing out.
I have a Nike Apple Watch for working out (love it for that). Still prefer to wear a real watch as the daily though. I would not spend double for Hermès...
Apple Watch could save your life. It can give you alerts if your heart is not working properly. You have to buy the right version though for those benefits. The latest versions have that. There’s a lot of media on this.
Loving my series 5 Nike. I swap out the rubber band for working out/casual with a brown leather band from Coach for work. Coach also makes a black leather band I believe, for a much cheaper alternative to the Hermès bands
