A huge about of my daughter's development as a toddler seemed to originate from day care. Peer pressure is a positive at that age
Yes ,start daycare. It will be good for u also . You will get some time to get the work done when he is away be fully present with your child when he is around.
Started my kid at 9-months, think it was so good for her. Teaching her to be social at an early age, they taught her signing and really supported her.
Hardest part is drop off….
It’ll be great for his development and socialization (and for you as well!)
Started at 18 months and my kiddo loves it. They learn so much from each other and get to do craft activities (painting, play doh) that I wouldn’t want to deal with at home every day. Language skills exploded, self feeding skills improved, learned to listen to instructions per peer pressure, made friends and loves spilling the daycare gossip. We specifically chose a program with a lot of outdoor space and emphasis on being outside. Only downside was being hit with the first year of daycare illnesses but that happens at any age when you start in a group setting. If you’re nervous start with a half day program or a smaller setting. I was initially adamant about keeping kiddo at home until preschool but looking back, that would have been crazy. My kiddo was a total Velcro baby but he adjusted super quickly.
We have a nanny and it's amazing. The nanny meets up with other kids and nannies every day so there's socialization as well
Daycare has been best for many reason. Drop off is hard but as soon as you leave they are fine in 5 minutes. They usually forget and go back to their friends. We would have a nanny mostly when they were sick from daycare. Be aware they will get sick alot but you have to ride it out and catching germs early on helps them later.
They play outside 2x a day. In summers they have splash days. So yeah lots of different activities. They need to be somewhere where they can release that energy. Also food is provided depending on where you go.
