I am interested in getting my SHRM-CP certification this year and I was wondering which study methods and materials worked best for those of you who passed the exam. Also, what are your roles in HR?!

I used the SHRM learning system and Victoria’s boot camp! I studied for around 3 months and passed the first time. I highly recommend Victoria’s boot camp as we went over most of the topics on the test.

It really depends on how you learn best. There are a ton of local tech colleges or universities that offer online prep courses if you like that model. I personally bought the study materials and preferred to study myself and passed the SHRM-SCP exam.

SHRM Learning System helped me a lot to prepare for the test. If I remember correctly, the system offers some prep-test and books to study. My study plan was studying knowledge in the books, then having a friend/family help me review knowledge by using flashcards and working on prep-tests.
My roles was HRBP and recently HR Program Manager. Good luck with your certification!

Hi all, new to fishbowl. I am currently a PTA working in homecare. I am considering changing career paths to non-clinical. Everything I search for available jobs in the pay range that I need seems to come up as sales, (Sr, executive, etc) I have zero sales experience, but could see myself working as a healthcare liason, recruiter, care coordinator, or pharm sales rep. I live in Dayton, OH. I would love some insight or feedback. I also see Gpac recruiting popping up, is this a reputable co? Ty!

We provide new hires a voucher to use to redeem company branded merchandise of their choice. They have 30-days to use it, otherwise it’s invalid and the funds return to the company. Do you believe the value of the voucher needs to be taxed like gift cards? My stance is no, because it’s a company purchase and just giving them the option of which merch item to choose and there’s no cash value.
