Look for a new job that will give you what you want! Then tell your manager adios! That’s your motivation without your manager’s manipulation!
I had a boss like that. Run.
Manipulation hands down.
Pro
Clearly it is gaslighting or manipulation
It's a sign that management is not the right role for him/her. Do your best and look to transfer out and or find a better employer. Leaders understand how to encourage and motivate employees-and that clearly isn't it.
Get a better job if you can, and on the day you leave, be sure to play the song, take this job and shove it! That’s a gaslighting manager you have!
Pro
Manipulation! Are there any other jobs you can look at so you can try and leave and prove them how lucky they are to have you?
