Well, if you have started your job search you can make your current role easier by not caring about your toxic manager. Do you job as required, but when your manager comes down on you, let her words roll off and just keep doing your work. You won't have to deal with her much longer so let her stew in her on toxicity.
Exactly this. I’ve been not caring, letting her words roll off and job searching passively for 2 months waiting for my promo to be finalized.
But I’ve reached a breaking point and it’s taking toll on my self esteem.
I hope I'm wrong about your HR manager, but if they says "that's just how she is" about a female manager who is a "little bit**y," do they also say "Boys will be boys" when males make sexually inappropriate comments about female co-workers? It wouldn't do any good to talk to this manager about her behavior. After all, "that's just the way she is." Best of luck on finding another position. Once you do, during your two-week notice period, file a complaint with upper management about your manager's behavior and HR's response. Perhaps something good can come from this situation, besides you getting the job you deserve.
Fingers crossed it would be soon. Also would it be bad to only give 2 week notice then take leave for 1 week? Half sending a message and half not wanting to deal with them longer than i need to.
And im pretty pessimistic that even if i raised the lack of response from Hr during my 2 weeks that it would change anything.

Hang in there - I would also make sure to network / befriend other people who have the same experience with this manager so they can give you tips / tricks
I was in a similar situation a few months ago and when I *finally* told my colleagues and they validated me, I felt 10x better
My colleagues have validated me but they’re too chicken to come to HR with me. They don’t even want me to name them on the complaint.
Sounds like my old manager, who HR told me was “just a demanding leader”. Is time to document everything and start looking for another job, hopefully within your same company if you like it otherwise (altho now you know how your HR department rolls).
Yeah I’d leave the company. I would only move internally to bide my time away from this manager.

On a related note, anyone’s company hiring product people with 7 years exp?
I am glad you are looking for another job, say a prayer when you walk through those doors and know he will protect you . I am going through the same thing. My 2nd time in my life that I had a female boss and it’s a nightmare. Just note, HR works for the company, they are not here for us. If you don’t find anything soon, start if you have not started yet, keep a folder of your accomplishments and her toxic behavior. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING!!! Your friend would be EEOC! Good luck!!!
Some people cant handle stress and they take it on other people . Focus on the blessings in life . " You are not alone "
