Admittedly I may be an anomaly, but I am also an AC at ZS with 3 YOE and I never work weekends (maybe once a quarter) and hover around 50 hr weeks Lots go to MBA since we sponsor fully (and most ZSers come from undergrad) and I would say the next biggest group go to Pharma, but sales strategy roles at tech and other firms wouldn’t be out of the norm
Not many examples of people going directly into PE/VC investment teams, some examples into Ops teams On the start up side, I have seen a ton of folks go their for general strategy, sales strategy, marketing, etc. roles - start ups specifically related to health care we definitely have a good brand (source - me having interviewed at 4 different places and they all thought highly of ZS)
Office mobility is quite easy. At least in my experience. I jusy had my transfer request approved in a total of ~3 weeks (even during covid). Pretty damn good package too. Can't wait. Planning to transfer again in another 2-3 years
You’re coming from manager to associate consultant? AC is below MBA hires / Consultant level role here. There’s growth strategy and deals work if you look for it. WLB has been tough since we’ve been doing so well as a firm and are basically understaffed.
I don’t mind Monday to Friday grind - I’m used to it but unplugging and spending time with family on weekends is important to me that’s what I’m trying to figure out.
How many YOE do you have?
AC makes sense. To come in the level above with that much experience you would really need a MBA
I am 3 years out of college at ZS making $120k, and that’s more than a big4 manager? - WLB before covid was great. During covid has been tough, because we have a lot of work and not enough people to do it. I log on at 8, work until about 6, then 9-12. Work about 5-6 hours on weekends - I’ve seen some go to tech, but mostly in pharma. A lot go to MBA since we were hired out of undergrad - we have PD? Is that the question?
Are those work hours fairly typical of your colleagues as well?
Just curious, how much does a AC(1st year) make and how about an AC(tail end - close to becoming a C) make at ZS? I have a MS degree and 2.5 years of experience after that. Possible case of an AC? I’m currently making 118k base at a Big4. Wanted opinion from ZS folks
