My PGWP is expiring this month due to my passport expiry. I have applied for an extension but have yet to receive approval. I’m travelling outside of Canada next month, will I still be able to work when I return to Canada?

I have called 3 IRCC agents and they confirmed that I am able to work while on maintained status when I return to Canada as this is an exception for PGWP extension applicants.

Wondering if this is true or if there is anyone who had been in the same situation?
